I’ve always been a fan of facial contouring, especially through shading and highlighting techniques in makeup. But the extra time spent applying makeup every time was a hassle. So when I heard Skin Laundry had launched a new sculpting facial, I was immediately intrigued. Claiming to firm, lift, and sculpt my face, it sounded like the solution I’d been looking for.
Skin Laundry is a globally renowned skincare center, renowned for its laser facials and skin rejuvenation services. They offer a wide range of energy-based beauty treatments, from laser hair removal to customized facials. But what really makes them stand out is their Laundry Club membership program and customized treatment plans by dermatologists, designed to make skincare an ongoing lifestyle, not just a one-time experience. As Dr. Roberta Del Campo, Skin Laundry’s Chief Medical Officer, says, “Just like building muscle at the gym, optimizing skin health takes time; it’s not a one-time fix.”
What is a Sculpting Facial?
The sculpting facial utilizes multipolar radiofrequency and pulsed electromagnetic field (PEF) technology to create more defined contours throughout the face and neck. “While many body contouring treatments utilize only RF, our dual-technology approach stimulates collagen and elastin production more deeply and efficiently,” explains Dr. Campo. PEF stimulates fibroblasts (the cells responsible for collagen production) to promote cell regeneration, while RF delivers controlled heat for immediate firming and long-term skin regeneration.
This treatment is virtually painless, but some heat may be felt on the face, depending on individual tolerance. The entire treatment lasts 60 minutes, and slight redness and swelling may occur during the treatment, but this typically subsides within 72 hours.
Benefits of the Sculpting Facial
- Firms, lifts, and contours the skin
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduces the appearance of scars, uneven texture, and pore size
- Sculpts the chin and jawline for a more defined look
- No downtime
- Immediate results
If you’re looking for a facial that delivers immediate results, the Sculpting Facial is a great option. Dr. Campo explains that the system they use warms the skin to the “optimal treatment range” in seconds, meaning the entire process is more comfortable and efficient.
How to Prepare
For optimal results, the brand recommends drinking plenty of water (approximately four 8-ounce glasses of water, plus your usual hydration intake) the day before and on the day of your treatment. “Drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment ensures your skin is in optimal condition for a safe and effective treatment,” Dr. Campo says.
She also recommends avoiding harsh or drying skincare products with high levels of alcohol. Dr. Campo explains, “Radiofrequency energy targets water molecules in the skin; hydrated tissue conducts energy more efficiently, which helps enhance collagen stimulation and overall results.”
Treatment Process
I tried the sculpting facial three times over three months and each experience was truly enjoyable. Before my first appointment, my Skin Laundry specialist asked about my skin concerns, explained the treatment process, and discussed how we could achieve my skincare goals. Afterward, she took a photo, which she recorded in my personal profile so I could track my progress.
She then quickly cleansed my face to remove any makeup and sweat buildup before beginning the treatment. She began by repeatedly sweeping the electric wand over my cheeks, using the same up-and-down motion. She spent about 10 minutes on each area before moving on to the next target area (cheeks, chin, jawline, neck), repeating the same wand motion.
You’ll feel your skin gradually warm up as the device works, but it shouldn’t be painful. Whenever it starts to feel too hot, I let my specialist know, and she adjusted the wand temperature and let my skin cool for a few minutes before continuing. After the treatment, my specialist applied a customized medical-grade serum to address my skin concerns (brightening my complexion and reducing acne scars).

Treatment Cost
The Sculpting Facial is designed as a six-treatment package. This means you complete the treatment over six sessions. For Skin Laundry members, the cost is $1,200, while for non-members, it’s $1,500.
Possible Side Effects
When performed by a trained provider, Skin Laundry’s Sculpting Facial is designed to be safe and effective for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Some skin types may experience mild redness and swelling lasting up to 72 hours, and slight warmth in the treated area is normal.
Dr. Campo also notes that those with thinner skin or areas overlying bone (such as cheekbones or chin) may feel more heat or slight sensitivity during the treatment. As with any heat-based treatment, there is a small risk of burns if performed incorrectly, which is why the provider’s training and experience are crucial.
Treatment Results
As with any skincare treatment, consistency is key to achieving and maintaining optimal results. While everyone who receives treatment will immediately see an increase in skin radiance and firmness, the effects are immediate and cumulative, meaning each treatment builds upon the previous one.
Dr. Campo recommends at least six treatments for optimal results. The frequency will vary depending on the client. Before starting a treatment plan, the provider will assess the client’s skin and create a customized protocol, which may include a sculpting facial every 10 days.
To maintain results at home, you should use a skincare routine that contains firming active ingredients. Dr. Campo says, “Using a good vitamin A serum in the evening, as the last step before moisturizing, will help promote collagen production between clinic visits.”
Post-Care
Immediately after treatment, apply a mild moisturizer and sunscreen. You can continue your daily skincare routine with a gentle cleanser and cream, but avoid using any products with active ingredients (such as vitamin C, alpha hydroxy acids, retinol, and physical exfoliants) for 24 hours.
You should also avoid heat exposure, so avoid hot showers or entering a sauna or steam room within 24 hours of your treatment. Since the treatment heats the tissue beneath the skin to stimulate collagen production, you want to avoid additional heat, which can cause inflammation.
Final Experience
This was my first time trying a sculpting facial, and it was a huge improvement over the gua sha tool I usually use at home. The results were immediate and visible, especially in my biggest problem area: the fat under my chin. I wasn’t ready for injectables like Kybella, so this felt like the perfect non-invasive alternative, and it didn’t break me out. While one treatment can bring noticeable results, consistency is key to lasting improvement, and I’m definitely going to stick with it. After each treatment, I look tighter and more radiant—who wouldn’t love that?
